The brief called for a rural weekend retreat in the mountainous winelands region outside of Cape Town, South Africa. The clients intended to utilise the property as an AirBnB as well as for their own personal use.

The building is a double-sided barn, clad externally in charred timber shingles, and internally in American Oak.

The project emphasised local design and craftsmanship in both the construction of the dwelling, and in the specification and curation of furniture, fixtures and art.

Location: Winelands outside of Franschhoek, Western Cape, South Africa
