As a firm of registered architects, we offer a complete architectural and interior design service.
Hayman+Charlton Architects clients will be working directly with directors Hannah and Craig. We are hands-on, responsive, and interactive. We believe in clear and regular communication, and open dialogue about cost, timelines, and design decisions through every stage of the project.
Our preferred method is a complete architectural service, however we are available for partial engagement on a stage-by-stage basis where this is appropriate.
We work both locally and internationally, with the majority of our work being split between Australia and Africa. We have successfully designed and overseen several regional and international projects through clear digital communication with strategic site visits where required.
1. PRE-DESIGN
Getting to know you, your brief, your timeline and your budget. Understanding the regulations governing your project, and the opportunities offered by the site. Each project is unique, as is each site and each client.2. CONCEPT DESIGN
A thorough design exploration of your project, based on the pre-design phase. We work with hand drawings, computer 3D models, and physical models to develop and explain the design. We will present the design face-to-face and take on your feedback before moving to design development phase.3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Based on the concept design and indicative cost estimates, we move forward with detailed design drawings to develop every aspect of the building. At this stage, we will lodge drawings with the relevant local authority to seek development approval. We will navigate every step of this process for you.4. TENDERING
We manage the selection of a building contractor, or work with your preferred contractor from early engagement, to ensure the best result for you as the client. We coordinate the various consultants required for the design, approval and construction of a building. In addition to the building contractor, this may include a quantity surveyor, structural engineer, hydraulic engineer, electrical engineer, environmental consultant, planning consultant and others.5. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION
We prepare all of the detailed drawings, schedules and documents required for the building to be constructed. We offer a complete service including both architecture and interior design, and ensure that roles and responsibilities of the building contractor and consultants are clear, accountable and transparent.6. ON-SITE MANAGEMENT
We work closely with the building contractor to manage the construction of your building on site. We ensure that the construction quality meets our stringent standard, that the build is running to schedule, and that no corners are being cut. We oversee final project completion and maintain an ongoing relationship with the client to provide complete peace of mind.
