The Tuludi Skybed pavilion is located on the edge of a seasonal floodplain, approximately two kilometres from the main lodge at Tuludi. The pavilion is anchored by a copse of Leadwood and Rain trees, and offers dramatic views of sunset, sunrise and the night sky.

The brief called for an elevated platform with a sleeping component, a deck for dining and star gazing, and an outdoor bathroom that is open to the sky but has a hot shower and a flushing toilet.

Guests are left alone at sunset, and are collected in the morning, and so equal emphasis is placed on romance and on safety. The platforms are raised high enough above the ground to be safe from hyenas, lions and hippos, and the structure is accessed via a gated stair. The structure has no walls and no ceiling, and is thus designed only for use in fair weather, which the region is blessed with for much of the year.
