Mpala Jena is a boutique safari lodge located on the southern bank of the Zambezi River, within the Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe. The lodge is a comprehensive rebuild of an existing tented camp that was demounted and rebuilt elsewhere. Key back-of-house infrastructure was retained, but all guest areas and suites are entirely new.

The design of Mpala Jena centers around the concept of barefoot luxury. The feel of the lodge is consciously low-key, and is a deliberate step away from the traditional safari lodge model.

The public areas of the lodge are thatch and timber structures on timber decks, and include a large lounge pavilion with oversized stone fireplace; a bar pavilion with suspended swing seats, a pool pavilion for daytime lounging, and an additional pavilion that includes a shop, swimming pool changeroom facilities, and a back of house component.

The site is home to a significant number of large Sausage trees and Jackalberry trees, and the tented guests suites nestle into their deep shade. No trees were felled for construction, and great care was taken not to interfere with the animals that live along the banks of the Zambezi.
